Buhusi – Romania Marches For Lions
Here’s How Our March Went
Buhusi – Romania Marches For Lions – In a country often criticized for cruelty to animals – Babi Sava oranized a Lion March with her students – and they participated in the March 15th protest. Remember the names Babi and Buhusi – you and your youg marchers are amazing. Thank you!
Buhusi – Romania Marches For Lions – Around 150 children of all ages, from 6 year-olds to 19-year-olds, took part in the March for Lions organized by the high school students of the local college – “Ion Borcea” Technical College in Buhusi, Romania.
They gathered at the memorial square in the centre of the town and marched up and down the main street to the sound of the official song of the march, “Lionhearts,” and other songs, carrying toy lions (other wild animals too just to show they all belong together), balloons and banners with specific slogans.
The local television was present and interviewed some students (the interview will be posted on youtube next week, after they show it on the cable TV next Saturday (they only broadcast once a week) and a newspaper article will be published one of these days.
I think the event was a success, considering the fact that it was organized by children, it was the only one in Romania and it took place in a small town with its prejudices and its own social and economic problems.
Let us hope there will be ears to hear us!
Thank you Babi Sava!
