The Evil In Acceptance
The Evil In Acceptance is the third in a series of posts that I’ve written this year about Man’s complicity in the suffering of animals. The first article The Numbing And Dumbing Of Humanity was followed by Living In A Bubble. I hope these articles have prompted you to think and then to ask yourself – what would make me stand up and say enough?
NOTE: Some Content Is Graphic.
As the year draws to an end – I was going to write a post about hunting – in light of the recent online debate about Melissa Bachman. I have never met a hunter who can honestly answer the simple question – “why do you kill animals” – they have all read the same drivel about conservation – animal management – the right to have guns – being declared the dominant species by God – the comaraderie of like-minded people – necessary culls – the evil of certain animals (the fox in the hen house and the wolf on the prowl) and how they really respect and love animals. When confronted – they regurgitate these statements like the narrow minded fools that they are.

Some Beautiful Lions And A Collection Of Cowards
The truth is -a hunter unless he or she is killing out of necessity – is a coward. They are not in danger on a hunt – they kill for the thrill of taking life from another living being. When confronted with any negative reaction to their behaviour they instantly go on the defensive and spew out insulting rhetoric such as – “you’re just a bunch of tree hugging, veggie-burger chomping bleeding hearts. They say these things because they know they have no legitimate defence – so they resort to the bullying behaviour that all cowards share. They kill because they want to and they kill because they can!
Then I saw Philip Wollen’s video and I realized that he has said it far better than I ever could. Please watch Philip’s short video here:

So this leaves me free to write about our so-called “civilized” society. The truth is that human beings are not civilized at all. There is a darkness in the collective human soul and an appalling apathy in the human psyche. We are all on a treadmill watching a looping reel of denial – blame – finger pointing and that’s just the way it is. This does NOT mean that there are not millions of people who care and who are trying to protect the planet, our animals and their fellow disadvanted human beings – because there are and I commend them – each and every one.
Our current human experience is complex – the world is both a beautiful and a dangerous place. People are busy just trying to get by. Not one moment exists when governments – the media – big business and the corporate marketing machine aren’t busy telling us what to think – what to do – what to fear – what to buy – what to wear – how to protect ourselves – what God is – how to save our money – how our children should be raised – what our family values should be and what religious beliefs we should support (and BTW your beliefs had better not be different from mine or you will be the enemy). Anger and resentment are festering in every nation – BUT some people are waking up – FINALLY!
We glorify the mundane – we give our time away to nonsense – we worship celebrity – we look away from cruelty in all its’ ugly forms – we want to be like everyone else and so we surpress our own values so we can belong – we bully individuals, cultures, nations – we hoard our resources instead of sharing – we stand by wringing our hands while corrupt governments, big business and corporations rape and pillage at will – we think we have no power so we do NOT act.
In the news yesterday the UN is asking the world to give $6.5 BILLION dollars to clean up the mess and the appalling suffering in Syria. This is a man-made debacle and this is the very same UN that stood by and watched as Al Asad slaughtered and eventually gassed his own people. The world (all of us) went about our business. What is this man doing in power?
But I digress -this post is about acceptance and I am writing about animal cruelty – which is happening on a global level on such a massive scale – that we no longer even flinch when we see it. We just look away and accept it. Their pain and suffering no longer even registers with us. Humanity has sold his soul to the devil. We have entities like The Harper Government – The Obama Administration – The Prime Minister Of England – The Queen Of England – The President Of France and The Emperor Of Japan to tell us what is acceptable. These people come to power – whether elected or by the hand of God and then they do whatever they want to do. They forget who put them there. There is NO accountability and there are NO consequences for their behaviour … and WE are silent.
If the behaviour of human beings was really held up to intelligent scrutiny it would be deemed to be criminal – because it is criminal. And still – WE sit on our hands – we have no power because we have freely given it away – to the wealthy – to corrupt governments – to big business – to corporate entities driven by profit – to celebrity worship – to the nonsesne of reality TV. We have time to watch spoiled, churlish and idiotic Housewives Of LoonyTunesville – but we are too busy to write a letter about human rights violations or animal cruelty. We have surrendered – we have given up as individuals and as nations and because we have acquiesced – we now accept these heinous activities:
Animal fighting in any way that mankind can conceive of it. Cruelty and profit driven. Suffering be damned. Dog fighting – bear baiting – camel fighting – stallion fighting – orangutan boxing and wolf and dog derbys to name a few.
Any form of factory farming.
Australian “Free Range” Pork
This Was A Little Life
Any form of animal abuse and cruelty – beating – starving – burning – dis-membering – confining and caging.
Just A Puppy – His Eyes Destroyed By Abuse
The Zoo – For Education Purposes
The Circus
Animal sexual abuse (beastiality) – now often called “furries” – in an attempt to make it cute.
Animal crushing – hard core (big dogs) and soft core (little rabbits and kittens).
Animals skinned while alive to satisfy our appetitie for fashion. The lucky few are electrocuted anally or in the ears so as not to spoil their pelts.
Animal trapping in the wild – hellish suffering.
Animals boiled alive – dogs – cats – lobsters – pigs.
Animals eaten alive – monkey brains while the animal is alive. A favourite in high-end Asian restaurants.
Live animal export – (sheep – cattle – goats) to a death we cannot even begin to imagine. Living animals hacked to death.
Trophy hunting – if you have enough money you can kill anything. Endangered? Not a problem! Their arrogance has NO limits.
Such Happy – Clueless, Ignorant Killers
Only 4 More Of The Big 5 Left To Go:
Elephant – Cape Buffalo – Lion – Rhino
Animal experimentation and product testing (even though the results are often meaningless) – it continues unabated. Dogs – cats – mice – monkeys – rats and pigs.
Appalling religious festivals where suffering – torture – mutilation – blood drinking and death are done by man in the name of any number of gods.
Domestic animals chained outside in any weather conditions. Dogs and cats left abandonned in vacant cottages – houses – apartments – in the streets – in garbage dumps. No problem. Stray dogs slaughtered in the streets – yes Romania – I’m talking about you!
Horses and donkeys worked to collapse and left to die broken and alone.
Kill shelters for dogs and cats. Kill at the back door to accept more new animals at the front door. Gassed – killed with heart sticks – it doesn’t matter – there is no more room. Kill – kill – kill!
We need more animals to buy – okay – let’s set up cat – rabbit and puppy mills and then allow them to exist without regulations. Okay – good to go. Suffering – so what? Money – money – money!
The veal industry – calves torn away from their mothers while still damp from birth – #65 – already just a commodity for profit.
The Dairy Industry – Burning Hair From The Udder Of A Cow To Keep It Clean
The immense suffering in the “angora” – (rabbit industry). Imagine being tied down and having your hair ripped out of your head. The rabbit is then tossed in a cage. The fur will re-grow. This may be done 4 to 6 times before a rabbit is too broken to recover.
