The Lions Are With Us In Spirit
I Thank Every Person Who Is Marching
The Lions Are With Us In Spirit – Every lion whose soul has gone before – every lion who roams the open plains – wary and wild – every lion confined in a circus cage – every lion trapped on a canned lion farm – every cub taken from his mother and languishing in a petting zoo – all of them – they called and we answered that summons.
They sensed our energy – all of us who care – they know we are fighting for them. I believe this with every fibre of my being. We are all “energy” connected across time and space and we came together on this 15th day of March through a common and powerful recognition that the appalling mis-treatment of animals by humans is wrong. We know this in our hearts and we recognize that animal cruelty demeans us all – make us less than we could be – and speaks to the part of the human soul that courts evil.
I know that there is an awakening global consciousness about animals. All of us who have connected to the “majesty of the lion” – saw in his eyes – a vulnerability and a need for our help. We have answered the call of Lion Spirit and have come together across oceans and continents in 62 cities to stand together for lions.
An idea – conceived of by Christine Jordann – championed by Chris Mercer and Bev Prevan – initially shared on my social media by Nikki Elliott and Sheila Wilson (animal warriors sublime) – and then picked up by every march orgazizer – marcher – volunteer – donor of services or products – and child who said “Mommie I want to come too”.
This is historic – this is game changing – this is a march that has become a movement. This will not be over on March 15, 2o14. People are already talking about what we do next. So remember the lions who have been slain but do not dwell on their deaths. Their collective spirits are leading us forward and we will never be silent ansd we will never give up on them.
I am so grateful for all the new people I have connected with around the world. Whether you are standing with 3 friends on a windy street corner – marching with hundreds of roaring friends – attending a candle light vigil – dressed in a lion costume or connecting on the virtual march – I am amazed at this incredible outporing of light – creativity – love – caring and compassion. Thank you all …
